What should my child wear for the recital?
Your child will wear the costume provided by Lovely Leaps. Detailed instructions on accessories, hair, and makeup will be shared closer to the recital date.
Do we need to purchase specific shoes or accessories?
Yes, your child may need specific dance shoes (e.g., ballet slippers or jazz shoes) and leggings/tights. We’ll provide recommendations to match the costume.
Will we need to make alterations to the costume?
Costumes are designed to fit most sizes, but minor alterations might be needed. If adjustments are required, we’ll notify you.
When will the costumes be distributed?
Costumes will be handed out a few weeks before the recital. We’ll notify you of the exact date so you can plan accordingly.
How much do accessories cost?
Leggings range from $7 – $20
Dance Shoes range from $10-$30
This all depends on the seller, prices vary.

When and where is the recital?
Our recital will take place in May, and details about the venue and timing will be sent out well in advance.
What time should we arrive on recital day?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance begins to allow for check-in and preparation.
Is there a dress rehearsal, and is it mandatory?
Yes, we’ll have a dress rehearsal to ensure the children feel confident on stage. Attendance is highly encouraged to familiarize your child with the venue and routine.
How long will the recital last?
Our recitals are designed to be family-friendly and will last approximately 45 minutes – 1.5 hours.
Can we bring siblings or guests?
Absolutely! We encourage families to come and support their little dancers. Ticket details will be provided.

How should my child’s hair and makeup be done?
Specific instructions for hairstyles and makeup will be shared closer to the recital date to match the theme and costume.
Do you provide a guide for stage-ready appearance?
Yes, we’ll send a step-by-step guide with photos to help you get your child ready for the stage.
Are there specific rules about jewelry or nail polish?
For safety and uniformity, no jewelry or bright nail polish is allowed unless specified otherwise.

Do we need to purchase tickets? If so, how and when?
Yes, tickets will be available for purchase online. We’ll notify you when ticket sales open.
How many tickets can we buy, and is there reserved seating?
You can purchase as many tickets as needed. Seating is assigned unless otherwise stated.

Can we take photos or videos during the recital?
Yes, but please stay in your assigned seating location, for the best experience for others around you. A professional videographer/photographer will capture the performance.
Will there be a professional photographer or videographer?
Yes! Photos and videos will be available to view on the main recital page and social media after the recital. The video is removed as soon as the next recital takes place.

Can parents stay backstage, or do we drop off our child?
Parents will drop off their children at the designated check-in area. Trained staff and volunteers will supervise backstage.
Who will supervise the children backstage?
Lovely Leaps staff and parent volunteers will ensure your child’s safety and comfort backstage.
What happens if my child gets nervous or forgets their routine?
Our instructors will be nearby to encourage and guide them. Recitals are all about having fun, not perfection!
What should we pack in their dance bag?
Pack their costume, shoes, tights/leggings, water bottles, and any small comfort items they might need. Label all items to avoid mix-ups.

Will there be a chance for photos with my child after the performance?
Yes! We’ll have designated areas for family photos after the show.
Do we need to return the costume, or can we keep it?
The costume is yours to keep as a wonderful keepsake of your child’s performance.
Are there any post-recital celebrations or activities?
Many parents have post-recital gatherings for families to celebrate and share the joy. Stay connected with the families and find out where they will be held.

What if my child misses the rehearsal or recital?
Please inform us as soon as possible if your child will be unable to attend. We’ll do our best to accommodate any challenges.
How can I help my child feel confident and prepared?
Practice at home, attend all rehearsals, and offer lots of encouragement. Remind them that recitals are about having fun and sharing their hard work with loved ones!
